Growling Man Spits on Clerk’s Face, Says He’ll Be Back

Clerk said man appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

An unusual encounter with a customer left a gas station clerk with spit on her face, but no other injuries.

Police were called to the Dacula Road Exxon on Oct. 28 after a man described as a regular customer exhibited strange behavior. According to the clerk, the male entered the store, cut in front of everyone that was in line and placed his red Nintendo 3DS on the counter. The clerk advised she repeatedly asked the man if there was anything he wanted to purchase, but he just stood at the counter and stared at her.

The suspect, the clerk told police, then began to make a growling noise and shake his body.

“The victim stated the suspect’s actions and physical appearance made it look like he was under the influence of some type of drug,” the officer wrote in the incident report.

After the clerk asked several more times if he wished to purchase anything, the man reportedly said, “I wanted to come see you and say hello.” The man then allegedly leaned over the counter and spit in the clerk’s face.

The clerk yelled at the suspect to leave. As the man walked away, he reportedly looked at the clerk and said, “I’ll be back.”

Once in the parking lot, the man began to dance in an area of the parking lot that was covered in wet paint. A witness to the dancing told police the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

The growling man is described as a black male with short dread locks, approximately 5-foot-6 and weighing 150 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt.

The case is listed as active.
