Gun, Drugs and Cash Stolen out of Unlocked Vehicles

Several car break-ins reported in Dacula's Whisper Woods subdivision.

At least six cars were broken into during the overnight hours of Feb. 20 in Whisper Woods subdivision.

In each incident, the vehicle owner had left his or her car doors unlocked.

Items stolen from the six unlocked vehicles included a Glock 19 with two loaded magazines, a silver Panasonic Touchbook, a total of five GPS units, 25 Lortab tablets, 50 Xanax pills, a Panasonic DVD player, two wallets, two driver’s licenses, cell phone charger, iPhone USB cord, cash and several debit and credit cards.

No damage was reported in any of the incidents. All six cases are listed as active.

  • Lock your doors.
  • Keep personal belongings out of sight.
  • Stow power cords, adapters and other items that might tip thieves off to the presence of concealed GPS units, iPods and other devices.
  • Secure your personal belongings before, not after, you park. .
  • Completely close windows and sunroofs.
  • Get an alarm.
  • Stick with your original audio equipment. After market stereos are often an attractive target for thieves.
  • Park in a busy, well-lit area.
