Gwinnett Firefighters to Participate in Boot Drive

The 21st Annual "Give Burns the Boot" fundraiser to be held in May.

More than 100 fire departments across the state plan to participate in the 21st Annual β€œGive Burns the Boot” boot drive. During the drive, Gwinnett County firefighters will be collecting donations for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Firefighters will collect donations and distribute fire safety education materials at shopping centers throughout Gwinnett County on three Saturdays this month: May 7, 14 and 21.

Donations are used to help citizens and firefighters who have suffered a severe burn injury. Ten percent of the proceeds are returned to the department in the form of smoke alarms and educational materials used to support fire and life safety programs within the community. Last year, Gwinnett residents donated nearly $35,000.
