Hamilton Mill Couple Robbed at Gunpoint in Driveway

Police responded to a burglar alarm and received an armed robbery report from the night before.

The GCPD responded to a burglar alarm in the 1900 block of Hamilton Mill Parkway on July 18. Residents told police the alarm had been set off accidentally but that they had been robbed the previous evening.

According to a police report, the victim stated that as he and his girlfriend were returning home on July 17, an unfamiliar vehicle pulled into their driveway behind them. The passenger of the suspect vehicle got out of the car and ordered the homeowner and his girlfriend to lie on the ground while he pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at them. The victim reported the driver of the suspect vehicle did not exit the car but did point an additional silver handgun out of the driver's side window.

The gunman demanded two iPhone 4's, a wallet and jewelry from the male victim; nothing was taken from the female victim. The suspects then drove off, turning right onto Hamilton Mill Parkway.

The suspect vehicle was described by the victims as a newer model black, charcoal or silver Chevrolet Impala that appeared to be a base model similar to that of a rental car. The gunman who exited the car was described as a light-skinned black man in his mid-20s, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing a white T-shirt. Although the driver did not exit the car, the female victim stated he appeared to be a black man with a medium complexion in his mid-20s.

The male victim stated he did not file a report when the incident occurred because the suspects told him that if he called the police they would return and kill him and his family.
