Hamilton Mill Teen Accused of Firing Gun Twice During Dispute

The teen also allegedly threatened to pistol whip another teen.

A Hamilton Mill teen with a long history of encounters with the law has been accused of firing a gun twice during a dispute at his Millmoore Terrace home.

A Buford teen contacted Gwinnett County Police after the incident at the Hamilton Mill home. The teen told police he went to Dacula teen's house at approximately 2 a.m. on Sept. 14. When he arrived at the home, he saw the Dacula teen and another male sitting at a table. On the table was a gun with roughly 20 bullets spread out next to it, the teen said.

"[The Buford teen] said he could tell [the Dacula teen] was high on something like pain pills," the officer wrote in the report.

When the Buford teen asked what they were doing, the Dacula teen allegedly said the two were "about to hit a $5,000 deal by the lake."

The Buford teen reportedly told the Dacula teen and the other male they needed to "stop being stupid" by involving themselves with guns and drugs. At that point, an argument ensued and the Dacula teen allegedly threatened to pistol whip the Buford teen.

The Buford teen decided to leave, but the Dacula teen reportedly followed him outside while continuing to threaten him.

"[The Buford teen] said [the Dacula teen] got in his face in the front yard, so he pushed him to get away from him," the officer noted in the report. "[The Buford teen] said [the Dacula teen] was still close to him, racked a bullet into the chamber and shot the gun into the ground within two feet from where he was standing."

According to the Buford teen, the Dacula teen then ran back towards his house, but stopped near the garage and fired the gun in his direction once more. The Buford teen was not hit and left the scene.

The Buford teen said he initially did not plan to "make a big deal" about the incident, but had second thoughts when the Dacula teen reportedly had someone call him to bring it up again the following day. The Buford teen said he told the Dacula teen he wanted to "fight it out," but became concerned when the Dacula teen reportedly indicated his intent to bring several people with him. The Buford teen explained the situation to his mother, who in turn told him he needed to report the matter to the authorities.

The Buford teen had several text messages from the Dacula teen related to the incident. One of the messages detailed in the incident report read:

"The ground and in a bush. No wear near U. It was a barred out move U wear makin the culdesac hot and I was tryin to get you to leave LOL. Shootin wasn't smart tho. But if your feelings are hurt then I guess that's that."

The teen's mother also provided the officer with a screen shot she took of the Twitter feed related to the incident.

The case is listed as active and has been forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
