Gwinnett County Police continue to investigate several burglaries and one attempted burglary that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Three of the confirmed incidents took place in Hamilton Mill, one happened in Apalachee Farms.

Around 10 a.m. on Oct. 1, a Hamilton Mill resident frightened away a pair of would-be burglars who attempted to break into her Floral Ridge Drive home. Just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 1, Gwinnett County Police were called to a Archmont Circle home after a resident returned home and discovered the house had been burglarized. Approximately 45 minutes later, police were dispatched to a Town Manor Court home, also located in Hamilton Mill, in response to another burglary.

The resident advised someone had made entry to the house at some point between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. by smashing the glass out of the back door.

According to the police report, the burglars went through "pretty much" every room in the home. The resident said a safe in the bedroom closet was also broken into, but nothing was taken as far as she could tell.

Several pieces of jewelry were reported missing, as well as a shadow box containing a baseball bat autographed by Andruw Jones. The total value of the stolen items was estimated to be $900.

The case is listed as active.
