Males Accused of Harassing Mill Creek Student, Threatening Teen's Mother

Incident began after teen said he was threatened during school's senior day celebration.

A senior contacted his mother after allegedly being threatened by several former students during the school’s senior day celebration on April 29.

According to the teen’s mother, her son sent a text message during the celebration advising that several males were at the school threatening to fight him. The mother said the males had been harassing her son for weeks leading up to the incident.

The mother instructed her son to find the school resource officer and headed towards the school to make sure her son was safe. As she was pulling into the school parking lot, the mother saw the suspects leaving Mill Creek in a silver Impala. The mother followed the vehicle to the parking lot of the State Farm office near the intersection of Braselton Highway and Pine Road where she confronted the males.

According to the police report, the mother approached the vehicle and asked the suspects why they were harassing her son. The mother said one of the males, the driver of the Impala, responded with obscene language and demanded to know why she was bothering him. The male allegedly threatened to get something out of his trunk to “take care of the problem” if she did not leave.

The mother said she left after the confrontation and was followed by the males until she reached Gravel Springs Road. At that point, the mother decided to return to the school and pick up her son. When the mother turned her vehicle around, the suspects reportedly followed her. While the mother was stopped for a red light at Braselton Highway and Gravel Springs, one of the males allegedly exited the Impala and began to approach the mother’s vehicle. Before the male could reach the vehicle, the light turned green and the mother drove away.

When the mother reached Mill Creek High School, she saw the parents of one of the suspects in the school parking lot. The mother spoke with the parents and had a conversation she described as “not hostile.” After the conversation, the mother checked her son out of school and took him home.

The mother and son were met at their house by the mother’s cousin and four other males. The mother said she left to go to the mall with her cousin and let her son leave with the four male acquaintances. On the way to the mall, the mother decided to pick up her other son from Mill Creek High School. As she turned the vehicle to head towards the school, she realized the Impala and the vehicle belonging to the parents of one of the suspects were following her. According to the mother, the vehicles boxed her in when she stopped behind another car at the intersection of Hamilton Mill Parkway and Braselton Highway. The mother said the occupants of the Impala were yelling at her and telling her to leave them alone. The mother claimed the father of one of the suspects brandished a silver handgun and warned her to stop bothering his son. At the same time, a suspect exited the other vehicle and ran up to her car. The mother identified the suspect as the younger brother of the Impala driver. The younger brother allegedly bent her driver’s side mirror and slammed his hand on the driver’s side window.

When the light turned green, the mother drove to the where she was met by officers. The suspects pulled into the across the road and were also met by Gwinnett County police officers.
