Man Blames Chest Pain on Half-Smoked Joint

Police called after man says smoking marijuana to blame for chest pain.

Police and paramedics were called to a Brighton Cove Trail home after a Lawrenceville man complained that his chest pain was the result of marijuana use.

The 32-year-old man called 911 when he began having chest pain after smoking half a joint. The man told police he had acquired the joint from his nephew.

The officer asked the man if he had any marijuana left. The man said yes and pointed to his nightstand. Inside the top drawer, the officer found a Ziploc type bag marked with dollar signs that contained a small amount of marijuana.

The man was issued a citation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.
