Man Killed in Accident on New Hope Road
Victim, 25, died from injuries sustained when his vehicle hit a tree.
Gwinnett County Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Sunday morning on New Hope Road between Alcovy River Drive and Palm Creek Court in unincorporated Dacula.
According to police, Bernard F. Jacques, 25, of Lawrenceville, was travelling southbound on New Hope Road at approximately 7 a.m. when he lost control of his 1997 Honda Civic as he entered a curve. Jacques’ vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Jacques was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident.
