Man on Ducati Motorcycle Hits 152 MPH During Pursuit on Ga. 316

Also, the sports bike had a paper temporary tag that was suspected to be fake.

A Ducati motorcycle was clocked at 152 mph on Ga. 316, resulting in several charges recently for a Winder man.

A Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report said Nathan Chaskey, 39, hit that speed after he was clocked at 99 mph near the intersection of Ga. 316 and Craft Road and the officer was in pursuit with his blue lights on.

The incident occurred after 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 20.

According to the incident report, a dark-colored 2013 Ducati 848 sports bike sped by the officer stationed near Craft Road at 99 mph, heading westbound on Ga. 316.

The officer pursued the motorcycle and asked for backup. The motorcycle sped up near the intersection with Highway 211.

The deputy wrote in the report: “As the vehicle was going up the hill heading toward Hwy 53, I activated my radar unit and checked the vehicle’s speed at 152 mph.”

The driver turned south on Highway 53 and was stopped a short time later.

Deputies forcibly removed the driver from the bike and held him on the ground because he didn’t obey orders to get off the bike, according the incident report.

The motorcycle was not registered and the paper temporary tag on it was suspected to be a fake.

Chaskey was cited for speeding, reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
