Man With Club Foot, Woman With Teeth 'Similar to a Meth User' Sought in Shoplifting Incident

The incident was captured on video surveillance.

The Gwinnett County Police Department knows what two suspected shoplifters look like and now just has to find them.

Officers were dispatched to a theft in progress call at the South Garnett Street Dollar General on Feb. 23. The manager attempted to stop a female suspect, but the suspect fought back and escaped before police arrived.

The investigating officer noticed several items, including a yellow neon jacket, on the ground outside the Dollar General. The store manager advised the jacket belonged to the female suspect and had come off during his struggle with her.

Inside the jacket, the officer located a bottle of methadone. According to the report, it is not known if the name on the bottle is that of the female suspect.

Video surveillance showed the female suspect enter the store at approximately 6:35 p.m. The woman did not leave until 30 minutes later when she was confronted by the store manager. A male suspect entered the store at 6:36 p.m. and left at 6:53 p.m. The male returned at 7:03 p.m. and left approximately 15 seconds before the female suspect fled, the report indicated.

The manager explained that he had noticed the woman was acting suspiciously, so he reviewed the surveillance footage while she was still in the store. According to the manager, the video showed the woman concealing merchandise. At that point, the manager confronted her. The manager said the male suspect who was with the woman saw the confrontation and left the store.

"[The manager] said the female told him if he touched her she would have him arrested for assault," the officer wrote in the report. "[The manager] said he followed the female to the front of the store where he grabbed the Dollar General merchandise. [The manager] said the female resisted and a scuffle ensued."

The woman eventually broke free by slipping out of her jacket. She was last seen running towards South Harris Street.

The male suspect is described as white, approximately 5-foot-11, weighing 160 pounds. The suspect has short blonde hair and, at the time of the incident, was wearing a brown jacket, red t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and "walked with a club foot."

The female suspect is white, 5-foot-2, weighing 100 pounds with "bleach blonde hair"  and "bad teeth similar to a meth user." At the the time of the incident, she was wearing a yellow neon jacket and a pink t-shirt.

The value of the stolen merchandise was listed as $166.31.

The case is listed as active.
