Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire

Elderly occupant escaped unharmed.

A Dacula man is homeless after a fire destroyed his mobile home.

The home, located in the 100 block of Pipeline Road, was fully involved when firefighters arrived just before 10 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, July 31.

The occupant, an elderly man, was home at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed. The home is considered a total loss. The man is being assisted by family.

According to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer Capt. Tommy Rutledge, the mobile home is in a rural area approximately two miles down a dirt and gravel road.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
