Multiple Car Break-ins Reported on Sweet Auburn Lane

At least five vehicles entered between the evening of Jan. 6 and the morning of Jan. 7. All of the vehicles had been left unlocked.

Several Sweet Auburn Lane residents had their cars broken into earlier this month.

Police responded to at least five reports of entering auto in the Dacula subdivision located off Old Auburn Road.

One victim said he left his truck unlocked overnight and discovered all the doors open the following morning. Nothing was taken, but the vehicle had been searched. The victim advised that vehicles belonging to his father and brother had also been entered and searched. No items were reported missing from those vehicles.

Two other victims also left their vehicles unlocked overnight. One victim said all but two condoms had been taken out of a box in his vehicle, but nothing else of value was missing. The other victim said nothing was missing from his vehicle.

All five cases are listed as active.

  • Theft by shoplifting in the 2200 block of Hamilton Creek Parkway.

  • Theft by taking in the 1200 block of Auburn Road.
  • Theft by shoplifting in the 2200 block of Hamilton Creek Parkway.

Jan. 6

  • Identity fraud in the 3700 block of Fence Road.

Jan. 7

  • Criminal attempt of theft on New Hope Road.
  • First degree forgery in the 2600 block of Winder Highway.

Jan. 8

  • Battery in the 2500 block of Briar Valley Way.
  • Possession of less than one ounce of marijuana in the 1800 block of Winder Highway.

Jan. 9

  • Burglary in the 2500 block of Freemans Walk Path.

Jan. 10

  • Burglary in the 1400 block of Harbins Road.

Jan. 11

  • Simple battery in the 3000 block of Bold Springs Road.
  • Simple battery in the 1100 block of Lilac Arbor Road.

Jan. 12

  • Identity fraud in the 3000 block of Heritage Oaks Circle.
