The driver apparently tried to avoid striking the woman.
A pregnant woman was killed while crossing the highway Sunday night in Habersham County, in northeast Georgia.
Kimberly M. Coates, of Alto, Ga., was crossing Ga. Highway 365 at Mud Creek Road around 9:15 p.m., when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Joshua Ian Buehler of Atlanta, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Buehler apparently tried to avoid hitting the woman. The Georgia State Patrol said it is investigating the incident.
