The president and CEO of a non-profit organization that works with non-violent convicts has been arrested and charged with propositioning female probationers to receive sex in exchange for falsified documents.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Friday afternoon that Darrell Ellison, the top executive for Jails for Nails, has been charged with two counts each of criminal attempt to commit a felony and making false statements. Ellison, who has been released on bond, was listed as a Stone Mountain resident in county jail records.

According to its website, Jails for Nails was “conceived, organized and implemented with the main goal of providing employment, training, education, and housing for non-violent ex-offenders that would otherwise not have the opportunity nor the resources.”

The sheriff’s office said Ellison asked for sex in exchange for documentation of the women’s required community service hours.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Shannon Volkodav said the office was notified by a supervisor at Southeast Corrections of a complaint by a female probationer who claimed Ellison asked for sex in exchange for the documents.

Undercover deputies investigated, and say Ellison openly solicited sex from an agent posing as a woman interested in the deal.

He was arrested in a sting operation Thursday, May 15, when he arrived at agreed-upon location where he thought he’d receive sexual favors.

Investigators request that any additional victims contact the Investigative Services Division at 770-619-6655.

How many tax-payer dollars did he get for his "non-profit" to get set up so he can have free sex?
