Pet Lizard Purloined During Basement Burglary

Bearded dragon named "Spike" last seen on March 16. The lizard and cage were removed from the basement of a Hamilton Mill home.

Police are searching for clues in the case of a missing lizard last seen on March 16.

The reptile, a light green bearded dragon named “Spike,” was kept in a cage in a basement bedroom of a Mill Park Court home. The Dacula homeowner discovered the lizard and cage missing when she went to feed the reptile on the morning of March 17.

According to the police report, the lizard belongs to the homeowner’s young son. Initially the homeowner suspected one of her son’s friends may have taken it upon themselves to care for the lizard while her son was away visiting a family member, but, after checking with her neighbors, realized that was not the case. The homeowner searched the basement and yard, but found no sign of the lizard or the cage. No other items were missing.
