Phone Swiped During Poker Game, Thief Caught on Video Surveillance
A June 10 poker game at Del Rio inadvertently cost a Bogart, Ga. man his cellphone.
The man said he left his Samsung Galaxy II phone on the bar to play music while he played poker. At one point during the game, the man noticed the music had stopped. He then realized his cell phone was missing.
Management and police reviewed the video surveillance and saw a man identified as a frequent customer reach over the counter and take the phone. The man, whose name was given to police, then walked out of the restaurant with the phone.
The suspect called an employee of the restaurant while the officer was at the scene. The suspect reportedly told the employee he was on the way back to the restaurant with the phone. The officer waited for approximately 30 minutes, but the suspect did not return.
The case is listed as active.
