UPDATE: Police Identify Tattooed Man Killed on I-85

Gwinnett County Police released photos of victim's tattoos in an attempt to learn identity of the victim.

UPDATED Nov. 26 at 7:23 a.m.

Gwinnett County Police have identified a man killed on I-85 near Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road early Friday morning as Calvin Wilson Jr., 26, from Charlotte, N.C.

According to police, the man was struck by a tractor-trailer at approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 25. At this time, police do not believe the tractor-trailer driver was speeding or under the influence of alcohol. Police are unsure if the victim was impaired.

The victim had very little in his pockets, according to a press release, and police were initially unable to identify him.

The GCPD Accident Investigation Unit released photos of the victim's tattoos in the hope that someone would be able to identify the man. One tattoo, on the inside of the victim's left ankle, had a Grateful Dead style design. The victim also had a large, black tattoo on his left forearm and another large tattoo on the right side of his abdomen.
