Police Searching for Cell Phone Store Robbers

Suspects are believed to be responsible for seven cell phone store robberies.

Gwinnett County Police detectives are asking for the public's help in locating the perpetrators of a series of cell phone store robberies.

Since May 26, 2012, seven Gwinnett cell phone stores have been robbed -- six in unincorporated Norcross and one in unincorporated Lilburn. The most recent robbery occurred on July 24.

In each case, the robberies were committed by one or two armed suspects. Police have released surveillance images of one of the suspects, who police describe as a 5-foot-8 light-skinned black male weighing approximately 150 pounds.

"The suspect usually produces a handgun from his waistline and confronts employees," said GCPD public information officer Cpl. Jake Smith in a released statement.  "He usually orders the employees into a back bathroom or closet and orders them not to come out until a few minutes after he has left.  The robberies are usually completed in less than two minutes."
