Police Tentatively Identify Body Found in Dacula Field

Remains believed to be those of a woman missing since 2006.

Gwinnett County Police have tentatively .

Gwinnett County Police Department public information officer Cpl. Jake Smith said investigators are “99.9 percent certain” the remains are those of Rhonda Bingham, a Dacula woman missing since 2006.

“None of that is confirmed, but they strongly suspect it is her,” Smith said. According to Smith, investigators are still awaiting the results of DNA tests for final confirmation, but met with Bingham’s family earlier today.

Bingham’s . Smith said the remains were located a short distance from where Bingham’s car was recovered after she was originally reported missing.

Investigators have not yet confirmed the cause of death but do not currently suspect foul play, Smith said. Toxicology results are still pending, Smith added.
