Pregnant Woman Rescued from 2nd-Floor Window at Gwinnett House Fire

She and another woman suffered minor smoke inhalation.

Two women, including an expectant mother, were rescued from a Wednesday morning house fire in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett Police Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the women were trapped by heavy smoke conditions on the second floor of a home on Harmony Grove Road in Lilburn when firefighters arrived around 10:20 a.m.

“The women were conscious and alert and were signaling firefighters from the window on arrival,” Rutledge said in an emailed alert. “First-due firefighters quickly deployed a ground ladder and assisted the women out the window on the right-side of the structure. Both were able to climb down on their own with assistance.”
