Purse, Appliances Reported Stolen

Gwinnett County Police investigating two Dacula area burglaries.

A Dacula woman's debit card was recently stolen and used to purchase approximately $100 worth of merchandise at the Braselton Highway and . The Bank of America debit card was in the victim’s purse at the time of the theft.

The woman notified police after discovering the card and her purse had been stolen out of her unlocked Ford Expedition. The woman said the theft took place between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 12. According to the victim, the vehicle was parked inside the garage at the time of the incident, but the garage door was not closed.

The following day, the woman’s purse was found in a neighbor’s backyard. The victim told police her debit card and driver’s license were the only items missing.

The following week, another Dacula home was burglarized.

Police were called to a Fence Road home after a tenant discovered someone had stolen a washing machine and dryer out of the carport. The tenant said the home is currently being renovated and that no items appeared to be missing from the interior of the home.

Both cases are listed as active.

  • Simple assault in the 1700 block of Winder Highway.

Feb. 22

  • Simple assault in the 100 block of Dacula Road.

Feb. 23

  • Possession of less than one ounce of marijuana on I-85 at Hamilton Mill Road.
