Residents Awake to Find Dacula Man Asleep inside Home

A Dacula resident claims to know homeowners and the officers who showed up to arrest him.

A Dacula man was recently jailed after entering a Winder couple's home and settling in for a nap.

On March 25, 2012, an officer with the responded to a Lacey Lane home about 7:45 a.m. Inside the residence, the officer found a white male in pajama bottoms asleep in a chair and covered with what appeared to be a jacket.

The officer attempted to wake the man, who then attempted to go back to sleep. The officer again woke the man up and asked him what he was doing inside the residence. According to an incident report, the man appeared disoriented and under the influence of some type of drug. He was unable to tell the officer where he was or how he had gotten inside the house, saying the only thing he could remember was waking up outside and being very cold.

The man went on to say that when he awoke outside he started knocking on doors and screaming to get someone to come outside.

"I asked (the subject) if he knew any of the homeowners and he stated he did," the officer wrote in the report. "He also pointed to two other police officers who were with me at the scene and stated he knew them also."
