Robbers Invade Duncan’s Lake Home

Man pistol-whipped, tied up with Xbox cable after three men force their way into house.

A man and woman were held at gunpoint and robbed after three men forced their way into the couple’s Duncan Lakes Drive home on April 16.

The couple had just returned home from the “The Bottom of the Cup” bar on Thompson Mill Road when they heard a knock on the door. The male victim opened the door and saw three black men standing outside. When the male victim unlocked the storm door to speak with the men, the three suspects allegedly forced their way into the home. The male victim said he struggled to close the door before the suspects could enter, but failed. As the suspects entered the home, one of the men pistol-whipped the male victim in the forehead. All three suspects were armed according to the victims. The victims said two of the men had handguns and the third was armed with a rifle, possibly an AK-47.

Once inside the home, the suspects reportedly ordered the couple to the ground and demanded to know where to find money. One of the suspects straddled the female victim and pointed a handgun in her back. The suspect then took the female’s T-Mobile Fender edition cell phone out of her pants pocket.

According to the victims, the male was pistol-whipped in the head a second time before being forced to the ground. One of the assailants reportedly used an Xbox cable to tie up the victim. While the male was bound and lying on the floor, one of the robbers allegedly kicked the male in the back of the head.

The couple’s two dogs were inside at the time of the robbery and began growling and barking at the intruders. The victim said a robber kicked one of the dogs and scared the animal away.

While the victims were lying on the floor, one of the suspects entered the first floor bedroom and overturned a mattress to search for valuables. Before leaving the home, the suspects took the female’s purse, the man’s wallet and a set of car keys.

After the suspects left, the male ran to the door but did not see the suspects or a vehicle. After freeing his hands, the male victim called 911.

The victims said they did not recognize the men and could provide very few details regarding the suspects’ apparel or appearance. The victims did not believe they were followed from the bar and could not identify any possible suspects.

The male victim had visible welts on his forehead and the back of his head, but refused medical treatment. The female was not injured.

The case is listed as active.
