The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a second person in connection with a March animal cruelty case, in which a dog was found emaciated and with electrical tape wrapped tightly around its snout.
Sheriff’s office public information officer Shannon Volkodav said in an email Friday afternoon, April 25, that Brandon Kaile Duncan had been charged with cruelty to animals. Duncan, who is listed as a Loganville resident, was being held in the Gwinnett County jail without bond.
The dog’s owner, Antonio Furlow, was arrested on March 27 on the same charge. He was released on bond from the county jail on April 10. Furlow was the dog’s owner.
The two men were roommates, according to the sheriff's office.
Snellville Police responded to an animal welfare call on Parkside Court in on March 21 and found the dog. “The dog’s mouth was swollen and bleeding” from the tape, Volkodav said.
Gwinnett County Animal Control took custody of the animal.
