Seven $100 Bills in His Wallet Before Bedtime; All Were Gone in the Morning

News Nearby: And it may have happened before.

A man told deputies someone came into his house and stole money out of his wallet — and he thinks it may have happened before.

The Winder resident told a Barrow County deputy on March 17 he cashed his paycheck the day before and had seven $100 bills in his wallet when he placed it on the kitchen counter before going to bed.

In the morning, the wallet was found on the floor near the back door. It contained only four $1 bills.

The back door was unlocked, though the homeowners said they never leave it unlocked at night. There were no signs of forced entry.

The man told the deputy money was missing from his wife’s wallet three weeks ago, but they decided not to report it.
