Several Car Break-Ins Reported in Hamilton Mill
At least three vehicles were entered during the overnight hours of Jan. 21.
Gwinnett County Police are investigating several car break-ins that took place last week in Dacula’s Hamilton Mill subdivision.
In all three cases, the victims left their vehicles unlocked.
A Greenside Court resident reported the theft of several items including a GPS unit, iPhone 4, radar detector, credit card and sunglasses. A black leather jacket and several hundred dollars in cash were reported missing from a vehicle parked at a Deerhaven Trail residence. A resident on Millwater Crossing reported the theft of a checkbook, lottery ticket and pack of cigarettes.

No damage was reported in any of the incidents. All three cases are listed as active.

- Lock your doors.
- Keep personal belongings out of sight.
- Stow power cords, adapters and other items that might tip thieves off to the presence of concealed GPS units, iPods and other devices.
- Secure your personal belongings before, not after, you park. .
- Completely close windows and sunroofs.
- Get an alarm.
- Stick with your original audio equipment. After market stereos are often an attractive target for thieves.
- Park in a busy, well-lit area.

- Theft of services in the 2700 block of Braselton Highway.
Jan. 20
- Burglary in the 900 block of Rolling Branch Way.
- Simple battery in the 2700 block of Angel Oak Circle.
Jan. 21
- Theft by taking in the 900 block of Harbins Road.
- Identity fraud in the 2600 block of Auburn Avenue.
Jan. 22
- Theft by taking in the 1700 block of New Hope Road.
Jan. 23
- Identity fraud in the 200 block of River Pass Court.
- Prescription fraud/forgery in the 500 block of Dacula Road.
- Theft by taking in the 3800 block of Braselton Highway.
Jan. 25
- Burglary in the 1900 block of Patrick Road.
