Sexually Explicit Tweets Used to Harass Teen

Twitter account detailing fictional sexual escapades opened in name of 14-year-old student.

The mother of a 14-year-old Dacula girl called police after learning someone had opened a Twitter account in her daughter’s name and was using the social media service to post sexually explicit tweets.

According to the police report, the daughter brought the account to her mother’s attention after learning about it from friends at school.

The person impersonating the victim on Twitter reportedly used the account to describe sexual experiences the victim had allegedly had as well as sexual acts in which the victim had reportedly participated.

The mother was able to provide police with a suspect name. According to the mother, the suspect and victim attend the same high school. The mother said the suspect had opened up a MySpace account under another person’s name previously and had been disciplined by the school for her actions.

The case is listed as active.
