Storms Take Down Wires in Dacula Near 316

Gwinnett firefighters responded to several storm-related calls on Friday, June 28.

Scattered, strong storms on Friday, June 28, resulted in wires and trees down in several Gwinnett locations.

There were no reports of major damage and no injuries according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer Capt. Tommy Rutledge.

In Dacula, live wires were down on both sides of Highway 316 near Drowning Creek Road. Wires were also reported down at the following locations:

  • 5500 block of Crestland Court, SW in Stone Mountain
  • 1800 block of Pucketts Drive, SW in Lilburn
  • 3200 block of Lamplighter Terrace, SW in Snellville
  • 4100 block of Wellington Hills Lane, SW in Snellville
  • 4200 block of River Club Drive, SW in Lilburn
  • 1900 block of Englewood Way, SW in Snellville

Fire crews also responded to the following reports of downed trees:
  • 3000 block of Ansley Forest Court, SW in Snellville.  The caller reported a tree down leaning on the roof of the home.  There were no injuries reported.
  • 5500 block of Bowers Road, SW in Stone Mountain.  The caller reported a tree down on the house.  There were no injuries reported.
