Thief or thieves damage front-end loader to break into storage shed.

Almost $3,000 worth of equipment was stolen and another piece of equipment was damaged during a burglary at the Sugarloaf Parkway Extension construction site near the intersection of Harbins Road and Highway 316.

The complainant, a supervisor with the construction company, said the theft occurred some time between 1:30 p.m. on July 27 and 7 a.m. on July 30. According to the incident report, the thief or thieves cut the hydraulic lines to a front-end loader that was parked against the storage trailer door in order to lower the bucket away from the door.  The thief or thieves then removed the hinges to the door to gain access to the trailer.

A gas powered Honda generator valued at $2,000 and a Stihl cut-off saw valued at $900 were reported missing.
