Swastika and ‘KKK’ Painted on Driveway of Hamilton Mill Home

According to police report, homeowner believes her family was targeted because of their race.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating an Oct. 6 act of vandalism in Hamilton Mill, which, according to the police report, the homeowner believes may have been racially motivated.

Police were called to the 3700 block of Millwater Crossing after a homeowner discovered a swastika and the letters “KKK” had been spray-painted on her driveway with green spray paint. The initials “JK” had also been painted on the driveway. The woman, who is African-American, reportedly told the officer she believed her family had been targeted because of their race.

While the officer was interviewing the homeowner, a neighbor walked over to report that his home had also been vandalized. The man said his granddaughter and her two friends had invited several male acquaintances over to his house the previous evening. The man said he believed the males were responsible for the graffiti. The officer discovered several places where initials including “JK,” “BNT” and “NG” had been painted on the sidewalk and roadway.
