Thief Steals Truck, Crashes Through Gate of Dacula Storage Facility

The stolen truck was later recovered on Old Freemans Mill Road.

An exit gate was heavily damaged and barbed wire cut during a Sept. 29 theft at an Auburn Road storage facility.

Surveillance footage from the incident showed a white landscaping truck ramming through the gate at about 11:20 p.m. There was no footage, however, of anyone entering the facility.

The officer dispatched to investigate the incident and the facility manager checked the perimeter fence and discovered someone had cut the barbed wire on top of the fence in the back right corner of the property and climbed over.

Before exiting the facility in the stolen truck, the suspect tried four times to enter an exit code according to the incident report.

The stolen truck was later recovered on Old Freemans Mill Road near Mobley Drive.

The manager estimated the cost to repair the gate to be $5,000. The case is listed as active.
