Man Tosses Rum Bottle Over Fence as Police Officers Approach

Three people were arrested after Gwinnett County police broke up a gathering in a Dacula neighborhood.

Gwinnett County Police made three arrests at Dacula Oaks Subdivision on July 31 after receiving several complaints of juveniles drinking alcohol.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers arrived and found eight people sitting at an outside table near the pool.

"As I approached the gate, I watched as one of the males threw a clear bottle over the fence into some trees," an officer wrote in the report.  "After we arrived at the table, I informed the male that threw the bottle that I'd watched him throw the bottle over the fence. I told him that was not a good thing to do."

Two women also attempted to leave through a gate, but they were told by police to stay while the investigation was under way.

According to the report, officers observed two shot glasses on the table and numerous cans of beer, including one that was open.

Police determined two underage persons had not been drinking and they were released along with three others who were over the age of 21.

The man who reportedly threw the 1.75 liter bottle of Bacardi Dragon Berry rum, 21-year-old Arian Lecalic of Buford, was arrested on a probation violation warrant. He was also charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, according to jail records.

Two 19-year-old women, Miranda L. Paschal of Dacula and Kayla S. Goins of Lawrenceville, were each charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, according to the report.

An arrest isn't a conviction.
