Two Arrested After Fighting, Underage Drinking at Party in Hamilton Mill

One of the teens also reportedly had marijuana in his possession.

An officer investigating a June 8 noise complaint in Hamilton Mill discovered a more serious situation upon arriving at a home in the 3000 block of Green Farm Trail.

The officer had originally been dispatched in response to a report of a vehicle driving up and down Green Farm Trail playing loud music and honking the horn. Earlier in the evening, the officer had been dispatched to a home on the same street where a large party was taking place and suspected the two calls were related.

Upon arrival, the officer noticed a large number of people leaving the party. The officer looked between two parked cars and noticed two males fighting. As soon as the officer stopped the patrol car, one of the males -- later identified as Amir Spivey, 19, of Dacula -- began to run from the scene. The officer ordered Spivey to stop and the teen complied. He was immediately placed in handcuffs. During the post-arrest search, the officer discovered a small, clear baggie in Spivey's pocket containing a green, leafy material which appeared to be marijuana.

After placing Spivey in the patrol car, the officer interviewed Chase Youngblood, 20, of Lawrenceville -- the other male involved in the fight. Youngblood was not injured, but, according to the police report, appeared to be intoxicated. When questioned, he reportedly admitted drinking 3-4 beers.

Youngblood explained that he had been leaving the party when he bumped into someone and "then started getting punched."

The officer read Spivey his Miranda Rights and asked if he would like to give his account of the altercation. Spivey claimed he bumped into Youngblood and Youngblood grabbed him and would not let him go.

"Mr. Spivey said he started punching Mr. Youngblood to get Mr. Youngblood to let him go," the officer wrote.

Youngblood also reportedly admitted drinking "a couple of shots."

Both parties were transported to the Gwinnett County Jail. Youngblood was booked into the jail on charges of underage possession and disorderly conduct. Spivey was booked into the jail on charges of underage possession, disorderly conduct and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
