Two Mill Creek Students Arrested After Fight at School

Juveniles were charged with affray after fighting between classes.

Two students are facing charges of affray after a fight at school.

According to Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Director of Media Relations Jorge Quintana, two juvenile females were involved in a fight shortly after 9 a.m. this morning during a class change.

Both were arrested and charged with affray. Quintana also indicated the students would face disciplinary action.

Quintana was unable to provide the students’ ages or grade level.

Sydni...I agree.

Mill Creek is a great school. As Sydni said, when you have that many students, these things can happen. If you have ever seen MCHS during class change, you know just how crammed the corridors are. There is no way school officials could be everywhere and see everything. The two who fought are being charged through the juvenile justice system and are being disciplined through the school system.

Sydni, my opinion is my opinion. My neighbor is a Gwinnett County police officer who knows all to well the problems with that school and the gang related activity associated with it. I am not suggesting that it is unique to Mill Creek, simply making an observation. And no I do not go to that school. I have three teenage kids in the Gwinnett school system.

We used to get Saturday school or maybe suspended for a fight. Unless this was a ruthless beat down why would we arrest kids?? Some of them could use a good butt kicking. Particularly the 2% that aren't awesome.

They will be suspended for the fight (that is school policy...suspension for a fight). I think the arrest came in because of the severity of the fight which caused a huge crowd that prevented the administrators from being able to get through quickly to stop it. It was crazy, but it was over fairly quickly, thank goodness.
