Victim of Package Theft Finds Stolen Items for Sale on eBay

A Facebook post by the daughter of the victim about the incident generated a lead on the suspects.

A Dacula man said he never had a chance to collect a package after receiving notification of an Oct. 3 FedEx delivery. By the time he arrived at his Preston Ridge Lane home, the package was gone.

The man and his daughter contacted FedEx multiple times only to be told the package had in fact been delivered to their address.

The daughter made a post about the incident on Facebook and received a message from an old high school friend regarding two males in the Dacula area who allegedly follow delivery trucks and then steal the packages. The high school friend provided the daughter with the names of the two males and the username for an eBay account operated by one of the males. The high school friend indicated the male uses the eBay account to sell stolen items.

The Dacula man searched for the user on eBay and found three items being sold that were the exact same size, color and brand of the items that had been in the stolen package.

The man provided police with the names of the two males as well as the username for the eBay account.

The case is listed as active.

Gwinnett County Police are also investigating several other recent package thefts.
