Warrants Issued for Gwinnett Husband Accused in Fatal Shooting of Wife

Rodney Kimsey will be charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Police have officially issued a warrant for the husband in connection with Wednesday’s shooting death of his wife, Melissa Kimsey, near Hoschton.

Rodney Kimsey, who has been in the hospital for evaluation, will face charges of felony murder and aggravated assault once he’s released, the AJC reported.

Rodney Kimsey, 31, was found “acting erratically” by police a few houses of away from 4295 Platinum Court, where Melissa Kimsey, 30, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police were called to the residence when the couple’s 13-year-old daughter called 911. The girl reportedly witnessed the shooting. She was not injured.

A weapon was recovered at the scene.
