Windows Smashed in Car Break-ins, Incidents Captured on Video Surveillance

Similar incidents also reported at a Dacula park.

Purses, designer sunglasses, cash and credit cards are among the items taken in a series of recent car break-ins, including two captured on video surveillance.

Two of the most recent incidents occurred at Anytime Fitness on Hamilton Creek Parkway between 9:43 p.m. and 9:48 p.m. on June 7. Security footage of the incidents shows a dark-colored, 4-door vehicle park next to a 2013 BMW. The video, which the Gwinnett County Police officer described in the report as being of "poor quality," showed a person exit the car and move between the BMW and a 1999 Lexus.

"The video quality does not allow for a better description of the suspect vehicle or the suspect," the officer noted in the report.

A witness reported seeing the suspect, but was unable to provide information as to the suspect's race or gender and was only able to describe the suspect vehicle as "nice" and "newer."

The BMW driver advised his driver's license, two credit cards and a $400 pair of Versace sunglasses were stolen. The front passenger window of the BMW had been broken. The driver of the Lexus and her passenger reported the theft of a purse, wallet, driver's license, credit cards, cash, perfume and car keys. In that incident, the window of the driver's door was smashed.
