The girl -- an elementary school student -- looked in the direction of the noise and saw a teenaged male standing next to a vehicle. The teen then ran up the hill toward Braselton Highway with something in his hand, the girl told police.
The driver's side window of the vehicle which the male had been standing next to had been smashed. The vehicle owner said her purse, which had been left in the front floorboard, was missing. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the theft took place between 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The young girl is the only known witness to the event.
The woman's Coach purse contained her wallet, driver's license, Social Security card and $20 in cash.
There are no known suspects. The case is listed as active.
