Woman Arrested After Smashing Windows, Screaming Profanity

Dacula woman reportedly taking numerous medications at the time of the incident.

A Dacula woman is facing a charge of disorderly conduct after a March 27 domestic incident.

Police were called to the Wilkes Crest Drive home initially when the woman started breaking windows in the house. Police left the scene, but were later asked to return when the woman once again attempted to punch out a window.

The woman’s son advised that he had taken the woman’s car keys in an attempt to keep her from operating a vehicle. The woman claimed her foot was broken and she wanted to drive herself to the hospital. The woman told police she was taking several medications including Cymbalta (an anti-depressant), Lamidal (used in the treatment of bipolar disorders), Klonipin (an anti-seizure and anti-anxiety medication), Propanonol (used in the treatment of certain heart conditions), Zantac (used for acid reflux), Adderall (used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), Doxepin (for depression and anxiety), Zyrtec (an allergy medication), Tramindol (a pain reliever), Felexeril (muscle relaxant) and others.

Based on the amount of medication the woman claimed to have taken, the officer agreed she was not capable of operating a vehicle and advised her to contact someone to drive her to the hospital or call an ambulance. The woman declined to request an ambulance because she “did not trust them.”

According to the police report, the officer spent 30 minutes talking to the woman outside her home and advised her at least 10 times that she could not have the keys to her car. The officer attempted to get the woman to go inside her home, but the woman began screaming about past incidents and using profanity despite the fact two small children were playing nearby. At one point, the woman reportedly yelled to the children, “Kids - don’t trust the police!”
