A man who came home to find his wife in the arms of another man refused to press charges after his “angry and intoxicated” wife pulled a gun and fired a round into the ground.
The husband told police he returned home on June 23 and discovered his wife was at the pool with friends. The husband went to the pool and saw his 27-year-old wife and another man embracing each other. The husband, who admitted being upset, said he confronted his wife and told the other man “You do not do that with another man’s wife.”
According to the police report, the husband drove his wife home. When they arrived at the house, the husband informed his wife that he was taking her to her parent’s house for the night because he did not want her to stay at home.
The husband gathered up some of his wife’s clothes and walked back outside to discover his wife standing by the garage with a handgun. The woman allegedly fired the gun into the ground. The husband went inside to call his wife’s father and when he walked back outside, his wife was reportedly standing with the gun pointed at her head. When the husband asked his wife why she was behaving in that manner, she walked away towards Fence Road.
A Gwinnett County Police officer located the woman in the 3900 block of Fence Road. After securing the weapon and placing the woman in handcuffs, the officer drove back to the couple’s residence.
The husband said he did not want to press charges and was certain the incident had occurred because his wife was “angry and intoxicated.” The husband refused to provide the officer with a witness statement.
The woman was charged with simple assault and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
