Airport Jobs, Tone Deafness and Perp Alert

A look at a few of the top stories this week on Dacula Patch.

Propeller Airports issued a press release this week announcing the company was currently collecting resumes “in anticipation of the County leadership moving forward with this historic economic development project” i.e. the privatization of Briscoe Field. , this release raised quite a few eyebrows in our community. Propeller is one of three companies , but being listed as a company that is interested in privatizing the airport is a far cry from being given a contract to privatize the airport. Presumably the other two companies who filed RFQs intend to participate in the RFP process. Then and only then will he wants to review before deciding if the airport should be privatized and, if so, which company should be given the contract. Which leads to our most popular poll question of the week:

Brian Crawford’s latest blog post has generated another spirited political debate. I commend those of you who have contributed to a civil and intelligent conversation. It has made for fascinating reading. In other fascinating reading  --

Ok, I admit it. I think this kind of thing is cool. I fully intend to take this training. , has done such an outstanding job keeping us informed about the weather and I really appreciate him sharing this fun opportunity with the rest of us. So, as soon as I have a few hours to spare, I’m going to become a storm spotter or -- if I get a chance to go to Dragon Con this weekend -- possibly a storm trooper.

Seriously? Again? I do not understand how these people have not been caught. I’ve lost count of how many daytime car break-ins there have been at Gold’s. I remain amazed that these thieves are so incredibly brazen. Please be alert when you are out and about and report any suspicious activity to the police.
