Council Approves Williams Farm Drive Project

Allied Paving awarded $184,760 contract.

The Dacula City Council voted unanimously Thursday night to approve an $184,760 contract to .

The project will cover 2,170 linear feet of roadway from the area of 3100 Williams Farm Drive to the end of the cul-de-sac. Allied Paving was the “lowest, most responsive” of the eight companies that bid for the SPLOST-funded contract according to Dacula City Administrator Jim Osborn.

In other business, Gwinnett County Public Library Chairman Phillip Saxton provided city council members with an update regarding the library system.

Despite , library officials have developed a plan that will allow the system’s 15 branches to remain open seven days a week albeit with reduced hours. (Click here for details regarding the new operating hours for the and branches.)

Saxton said local libraries are a viable part of the cities in which they are located and offer a great deal of value for Gwinnett County citizens.
