Council to Vote on Pep Boys Special Use Permit, Variance Request on July 3

A public hearing will be held prior to the vote.

The Dacula City Council will decide Wednesday, July 3, whether a Pep Boys automotive store will be allowed in Dacula.

The 5,546-square-foot Pep Boys Auto Service and Tire Center and a 7,590-square-foot retail building would be located on a 1.35-acre parcel at 565 Dacula Road between the Walgreens and the KFC/Taco Bell.

A tenant for the second building has not yet been found, but, during last week's council work session, a representative for the developer indicated it could house a coffee shop or small restaurant.

During the July 3 meeting, the Dacula City Council will vote on the Pep Boys special use permit request to allow automotive repair, tire sales and installation at the Dacula Road site. The council will also vote on a variance request to reduce the side yard setbacks from 10 feet to five feet. A public hearing will be held prior to the vote. The council meeting and public hearing will take place at Dacula City Hall, 442 Harbins Road in Dacula. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
