Council to Vote on Proposed Park Improvements

City leaders will decide whether to spend SPLOST funds on additional site work and landscaping.

The Dacula City Council will decide Thursday night whether to allocate additional funding for a .

During the , public works supervisor Mike Moon presented several ideas for the park space to help improve both the appearance and function of the property while delineating it from the . The work would include construction of a retaining wall, leveling of the lot and landscaping

The improvements, if approved by city council, are expected to cost less than $5,000 and will be funded through SPLOST.

Council will also decide whether to approve the new Georgia Emergency Management Agency statewide mutual aid and assistance agreement. The agreement, which will run through 2016, provides financial assistance to participating governments in the event of an official declaration of a natural or manmade disaster. 

The Dacula City Council meets at , 442 Harbins Road in Dacula. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
