Dacula Fills Vacant City Council Seat; Appoints Donna Peairs

The council seat was vacated by Greg Reeves, who resigned last month in the aftermath of Reeves' arrest for misusing a city-issued credit card.

The Dacula City Council has appointed a replacement for former councilman Greg Reeves, who resigned last month amid a criminal investigation.

The council unanimously voted to appoint Donna Peairs to the vacant seat at its June 5 meeting, the city announced on its website.

Reeves was arrested in March for using a city-issued credit card for $3,600 in personal expenses. He is facing felony theft charges.

Peairs will serve the remainder of Reeves’ term, which ends Dec. 31, 2017.
