Dacula Residents Donate Most Money to Obama, Gingrich Campaigns

President Barack Obama has collected more money from Dacula residents for the 2012 presidential campaign than Gingrich, Romney and Paul combined.

Though typically thought of as a Republican stronghold, so far Dacula residents have contributed more funds to President Barack Obama's election campaign than to any of the Republican candidates according to data from the Federal Election Commission.

As of the most recent reporting period, Dacula residents have donated $6,800 to the Obama campaign while only giving $3,625 to Newt Gingrich, the most popular GOP candidate among Dacula donors. Dacula residents have donated $1,945 to Herman Cain, $1,040 to Jon Huntsman, $706 to Ron Paul and only $550 to Mitt Romney (see pdf for list of donors and amounts). Rick Santorum has not received any campaign contributions from Dacula residents according to the most recent data.

In 2008, Republican candidate John McCain carried every precinct in Dacula during the general election. In the Duncans A, Pucketts A, Pucketts C and Harbins B precincts, over 70 percent or voters cast ballots for McCain. Is Dacula still a solid Republican area?
