Dacula Residents to Vote on Sunday Liquor Sales This November

The municipal election will be held Nov. 5, 2013.

A 3-1 vote by the Dacula City Council on Thursday, Aug. 1, put a decision on whether to allow Sunday sales of retail distilled spirits in the hands of voters.

The municipal election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.

Voters previously approved a referendum to allow Sunday sales of packaged beer and wine in 2011. This referendum will cover liquor sales.

"In view of the other votes we have had in Dacula, I expect the measure to pass," Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks said.

The mayor added that approval of the referendum by voters would bring the city's alcohol ordinance into sync on the issue of Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages.
