The City of Dacula will get a little larger on June 1, 2014 — 75 acres larger, to be exact.
According to a post on the city’s website by Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks, the annexation was given the go-ahead on Friday, when Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 999, which also easily passed in the House and Senate during the recent General Assembly.
The annexation becomes final on June 1.
According to the city’s post, the 34 properties affected “consist of about 75 total acres in unincorporated Gwinnett County along the Winder Highway Corridor from GA 316 eastward to the current City Limits.”
