Decision Time for Sunday Sales Referendums

Dacula City Council to decide if Sunday package sales and Sunday liquor by the drink measures to go before the voters.

The Dacula City Council will decide Thursday night if voters will get to choose whether or not to allow . If approved by council, both measures will appear on the November ballot.

Voters will consider Sunday package sales and Sunday liquor by the drink sales separately. Both measures would allow sales to take place on Sunday between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

The council will also decide whether to move forward with . Repairs to the existing Whelan system are expected to cost approximately $6,100.

Another item on the June 2 agenda is a rezoning request for a 12-acre tract of property on Tanner Road. Property owner Ellis Lamme has for single family and agricultural uses. Lamme plans to host a small farmer’s market for local growers. He also hopes to offer educational programs for area school children. The earlier this week.

The city council will meet Thursday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at , located at 442 Harbins Road in Dacula.
